ReplyDeleteGreat summer cocktail, one of the worst preparations I've ever seen. This is precisely why chefs/mixologists dont have much in common

My girlfirends and I made these last night at the dinner party, preapared big batches of cucumber juice beforehand, so it was easy to mix it for bigger group of people. Adjusted amount of sugar, a little. Everybody love them.
ReplyDeleteHey Monika

Oh thank you! Cucumber gimlets are one of my favorite cocktails! I never think to make them myself - they are always my guilty pleasure when I go out and see them on the cocktail menu.
ReplyDeleteYou might use Hendrick's gin if you've got some on hand. Has a bit of cucumber to it. Also, if you've a Vita-Mix, you can just peel the limes and purée them along with the cucumber. I generally substitute confectioner's sugar for simple syrup if I'm in a rush and muddle the fruit with it. I'm awfully lazy during the dog days.
ReplyDeleteE&EL, everybody is raving about Hendrick's gin so I'm buying it for the next cucmber gimlet weekend :)
ReplyDeleteJoanna, they're really easy to make at home :)
Dot, thank you :)
Cocktails with cucumber are some of my favorites~ perfect for warm weather! I'm sure you had a lot of fun making these and doing some definite taste-testing! Cheers!
ReplyDeleteHow funny... and sad to read that wine has gotten boring for you. Perhaps you're not drinking the right kinds anymore? I have had cucumber gimlets before and they're really good. Quite refreshing during all this "brutal" heat we've been having in SF lately.
